Present Simple Tense is used :

1. to talk about general statement of fact

Example:

1. The sun rises the east and sets in the west
2. The world is round
3. The blood is red
4. Water consists of hydrogen and oxygen

2. to express habitual or everyday activity

1. I get up at 7 o'clock everyday
2. The nurses lokk after the patients in the hospital
3. The bank opens at 9 P.M everyday
4. They work for 56 hours every week.

How To Make Questions!

A. Wh-Questions














Example:

1. A: What time does your father get up?
   B: He gets up at 5 A.M everyday.

2. A: Where does your brother work?
    B: He works in a hospital

3. A: Who do you usually play football with?
    B: I usually play football with my classmates.

4. A: How do the students go to school?
    B: They go to school by school bus.

5. A: Which sports do you like; swimming or jogging?
    B: I like swimming

B. Yes/No Questions
















Example:

1. A: Do you go to work everyday?
     B: Yes, I do. I go to work around 6. 30 in the morning

2. A: Does your sister speak three languages?
    B: No, she doesn't. Speak two languages; English and Italian

3. A: Do the childen play scrabble everyday?
    B: No, they don't. They play it once a week.

4. A: Does he read the newspaper everymorning?
    B: Yes, he does. He likes reading sports news.

C. Negative

















Example:

1. I don't go to office on Sunday
2. My unce doesn't wash his car every week
3. The nurses don't look after the patients all day long.
4. Do you check your health frequently? No, I don't check it very often.


Remembers:

1. Most Verbs are added by S
  • speak - speaks
  • plays - plays
  • eat - eats
  • work - works , etc.

2. If the verbs have - S, -CH, - SH and -X endings, the verb is added by ES.
  • Kiss - Kisses
  • Watch - wacthes
  • Wash - washes
  • Fix - Fixes
